Dear Bharath

I am not exaggerating. You really did change my whole outlook of yoga, and completely converted me to its benefits. Having suffered a near fatal head and neck injury my employer had given me time off to recuperate in India. I was at the beginning of the three-month trip when I met Bharath in Varkal, Kerala.

Although I was in India primarily for the treatment s it offers, I had not been convinced of the benefits of yoga prior to meeting Bharath. Firstly he was extremely encouraging an enthusiastic, something I sorely needed as I was not remotely supple and could barely bend over and touch my knees. He tailored a routine to suit my beginner status but also that would remedy my particular aliment. Importantly, he took time to explain the medical benefits of each asan, not only in term of alleviating the pain but also in remedying the damage and strengthen the body and mind generally. Without doubt, it was Bharath's immense knowledge of yoga, his practical and fun approach to its teachings, his clarity of expression and patience that made me a yoga convert. To this day five months later I am still doing his recommended routine daily. I recently went to my neurologist in London to check my recovery. He was astonished that the injuries I sustained a year ago have improved so quickly. I am confident that it was Bharath's yoga routine that assisted in my speedy recovery.

Dear Bharath

I as a doctor agrees and most certainly many would that mental stress is the root cause of many aches and pains. Yoga undoubtedly reduces both physical and mental stress simultaneously. Yoga has replaced authentically my nightmare and terror called BACKPAIN with pleasure. The instant relaxation exercises taught at yoga India are genuinely excellent, also here we get the chance to give ourselves some time in this busy schedule

I originally came to study with Bharath for one month, however I was greatly impressed I stayed for two and a half months. I had done some yoga teacher training course before, but still lacked some knowledge and confidence to teach. In Bharath's teaching I found an amazing amount of patience, compassion and personal guidance. He gave the kind of detailed explanation and experience I needed to enable me to teach confidently.

He is forever enthusiastic, kind and encouraging even when my mood was not so good! I would recommend anyone to learn with Bharath, he has an amazing flexibility to teach absolute beginner to advanced yoga teachers.

He is completely true to his yogic teachings and lives a yogic lifestyle and will always be a huge inspiration for my own yoga practice and teaching.

I feel very Privileged to have spent this time with him and am already planning to continue studies next year.

I am a doctor (Skin Specialist) and I trained under Bharath for 3 months, I have benefited greatly by his coaching. I practice yoga and Pranayama for nearly I hour every day and it helps me immensely in my profession and daily life. Yoga has proven medical benefits also. In todays fast paced and hectic life, daily practice of yoga helps in relaxing and showing down the body and mind. Bharath has got a slow, measured and systematic approach to teaching yoga. He is willing to put in extra effort to make the student understand the asanas and breathing practices. More than that, he devices specific yoga schedule to suit each students profession and lifestyle.

Dear Bharath

I enjoyed Yoga with you very much! Honestly, you were my best teacher and you should not change anything in your style! Your are a very competent and fine hearted teacher. You have a big knowledge and good sence of humor! I liked specially that you are not tough, because our Western lifes are hard enough back home. Most of Western people don't like that the teacher shouts at them as I heard from others. So stay our self and follow your heart! Since you are still so young and allready a great teacher, you will have big success! I hope to be able to come in your classes again one day

All the best!

Om namah Sivaya,
Dear Bharath,

Well, I remember that you had a very strong positive energy about you which I found very welcoming and motivating. I liked the fact that you found time to correct all of us, even though the peoples levels in the group I was in were quite different. You gave good tips on how to do the asanas better and payed attention to alignment. I also liked very much that you were able to demonstrate the asanas so well and explain what we should do. The time passed so fast in the lesson because you made it so interesting and I was disappointed when the lesson was over. I also appreciated you singing (I think it was the Sahanavavatu.) before and after the lesson (Sarvebavantu). I always do this in my lessons la Sivananda yoga.

The only thing I feel you could work on is (sorry to say this, but I am an English teacher) your pronunciation. Although your English is very good, I think you could improve, so that the students can better understand what you are trying to say. Most Indians I have met (yoga teachers) speak too quickly and do not pronounce their words carefully. Your lesson did not suffer because of it, but could benefit by better English I feel.

Dear Bharath,

Your teaching was a great inspiration. I had not practiced yoga properly for a long time and it was wonderful coming to your classes because you helped me get back in touch with the spiritual side of yoga. This is something the teachers in the west are not so good at. The teachers here are very good with the physical practice of yoga, but when it comes to the spiritual side of it, they 'say' all the right things, but it does not feel very genuine. I felt that your classes were very genuine.

Also, physically, I felt very challenged in your classes, which is great. I was looking for that.Sometimes; I would say that I found the lessons too hard. This is because here, we are not used to being pushed so much, but this is not really a criticism as I never injured myself in your classes. The only time I have ever injured myself in yoga has been when I have practiced on my own without the instructions of a good teacher like yourself. All in all, I found your teaching inspirational and challenging. Thank you for that. Please keep in touch and let us know if there is anything we can do here to help advance your career.

Many best wishes,

Love,

Dear Bharath,

I had one on one tuition with you in January 2004. I found your teaching to be both challenging and informative. You were able to explain very thoroughly how to move into and out of asanas, and also how one should feel while holding the position. You explained clearly common faults that can arise and how to correct those in a very clear and confident manner.

hi Bharath

Bharath I'm not sure what suggestions i can give you to improve your teaching. i thought it was fantastic as it was. your love for yoga shines through. you have a light and humorous way when you teach which helped us keep smiling when holding the poses got tough! you were clear and specific as to how the poses should be done. we loved attending your classes and meeting you - it was a highlight of our trip, and we hope that we meet again and that you can be our yoga teacher again. if i had to give you a suggestion, it would be to make sure that your pupils are capable of doing some of the advanced poses. the difficulty of some of them made me worry a little about the potential for getting an injury. but even then, Bharath, i remember you telling everyone not to do anything that hurts, and you usually provided easier alternatives to do, so i think you are already aware of this.anyway, i very much hope we meet again in the not to distant future. i was in newzealand recently and saw my childhood friend Bharath there so told him that i had met someone with the same name - you! tag and i are leaving London and are moving to California where i have work writing a children's television show.

take care, Bharath
